Most people had not heard much about lupus until someone famous mentioned it. That was us too. Then we started reading. Lupus disproportionately impacts women of color, sometimes for years before anyone figures out what is actually wrong. The symptoms mimic other conditions, the diagnosis takes forever, and the impact on daily life is real. We wanted more people in our community to know it exists, know the signs, and know they are not alone if they are navigating it. Check our resource page for organizations that can help.

Some days exist to make you laugh. Others exist to make you stop scrolling and pay attention. We are here for both.

There is a day for everything. Seriously, everything. The quirky ones will make you laugh out loud and the important ones will stop you cold. We started paying attention to awareness days because life can get heavy fast and sometimes you need something nonsensical to remind you that joy still exists. And sometimes you need a number, a fact, or a ribbon color to remind you that something you did not even know about is quietly impacting people you love. We wanted both of those things in one place. The fun days. The serious ones. All of them matter. 

1. 1 in 4 young people are currently dealing with a mental health issue.
2. Lupus disproportionately impacts women of color, many of whom go undiagnosed for years.
3. There are more people waiting for an organ transplant than most of us will ever know.
4. And older adults, the ones who literally built everything we are standing on, are consistently the most overlooked group in the room.

We carry these days because awareness is the first step to action, and because some of these causes hit close to home.
