God First, The World Later: My Morning Must
TANYA TERRELLA simple shift that’s changed how I carry peace into every part of my day.
I saw a post recently that said, “Start your day with God, not your email,” from @theunderestimatedwoman. It spoke to me and stopped me in my scroll.
Not because it was new, but because it named something I’d recently started doing and it’s been a game changer. For a while, I’ve wanted to share how I start my day because it’s made such a difference in my life. But I wasn’t sure how or where to begin. That one post gave me the encouragement I needed and reminded me how powerful it is to share the things that ground us.
At the start of every day, I open the Bible App @youversion and read the Daily Refresh.
It gives me a scripture, some reflection, and a short devotional that anchors my spirit before the world starts demanding things from me.
Then it goes deeper with insight on what the scripture means, how to live it, and even ways to pray through it.
There’s also a daily prayer prompt that reminds me to pause.
To thank God.
To ask for help or share my concerns with Him.
To reflect on what He’s already done and stay grounded in the promises He’s still unfolding.
The goal is to create space to talk to Him and build a relationship with Him. And one of the best parts? I can save the prayers that speak to me most and revisit them when I need them again.
I’m not an affiliate. I’m not selling anything. I’m just someone who’s found peace and clarity through a free tool that’s already out there and I want to pass it on.
