Youth Line Origins: Antonio and Ayden
TANYA TERRELLShare
It started with me trying to get ideas for a youth line. I wasn’t sure what young kids like anymore. My son is 14, and I found myself wondering, do kids still like dinosaurs? Trains? I needed to do some research.
My nephews were visiting, and I wanted to get them off the couch and involved. I asked Antonio to name four things he liked, what he enjoys doing, eating, and wearing. I assumed football would be one, since he loves it. Then I thought about gaming and asked about his favorite snack. I also asked for his favorite colors, thinking I could brand the design with his name.
I started using ChatGPT to create prompts based on the things he loved. I generated images in Canva, Leonardo AI, and OpenArt AI, then placed them into Canva layouts. At first, it was just one sheet with all the items, but I realized uploading them separately into Printful gave me more control over placement.
Once I created a balanced T-shirt, Antonio said he loved it. That was the spark. I did the same for Ayden, and started working on more prompts.
I loved the outcome and when I presented Antonio and Ayden with their merch, Antonio gave me the BIGGEST hug. I was a proud auntie. Antonio was like, "this is my favorite because no one is going to have it but me". 💕
